Create Salford is a 4 day festival showcasing the best creative work from the University of Salford’s School of Arts and Media students. The festival runs in June each year at MediaCityUK and our main Allerton campus and features art and design degree shows, original theatrical performances, live music, student journalism and media awards ceremonies, a fashion runway show and a range of other exciting events and installations.
Chancellor Jackie Kay MBE officially opens the event at MediaCityUK at 5pm on Wednesday 17 June, introducing activities that extend to Allerton Studios, Frederick Road Campus.
On Thursday 18 June, school and college students are invited to attend a series of talks, tours and workshops to find out what they can expect as a School of Arts & Media undergraduate student.
On Thursday evening, the Music and Performance Directorate are proud to present the European premiere of Nancy Galbraith's Passion According to St. Matthew, conducted by Tommy Octave at Manchester Cathedral.
While Festival activities draw to a close on Saturday 20 June, the degree show exhibitions will remain open to the public until Tuesday 23 June.
