Artists Josephine Callaghan, Gery Georgieva and Erica Scourti have emerged from the series of #temporarycustodians residencies during 2013. Based at Regents Trading Estate behind Islington Mill, #temporarycustodians is an R&D platform, initiated by curator Helen Kaplinsky and artist Maurice Carlin. The project investigates how the shift towards a shared economy and peer2peer distribution might provide an alternative to historical modes of collecting art.
The #temporarycustodians project was been supported by University of Salford; examples of the work produced by the project will be gifted to the University’s Art Collection.
