50th anniversary of Sociology at the University of Salford

Tuesday 11 March 2014 3.00pm - Tuesday 11 March 2014 4.30pm
Venue: Council Chamber, The Old Fire Station, University of Salford, Crescent, Salford
Event Type: Alumni Events; Public Lectures

This year the University of Salford celebrates 50 years of teaching and research of sociology. To mark this anniversary we are hosting a special event which will offer students, past and present, staff and supporters an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the last half century.

The reunion and discussion event from 3.00-4.30pm will feature three panels representing different generations of staff and students, who will discuss shifting conceptions of the practice of sociology, Salford’s contribution over the last half century and the place of sociology in their individual lives and careers. The event will be an opportunity to meet and reminisce with former classmates and colleagues.

We are incredibly proud of this significant landmark occasion and the event is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our achievements over the last 50 years.
