Record number of KTP applications
The Salford Partnerships Office is pleased to announce that we have received a record number of applications for the post of KTP Associate due to start with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.
Lisa Sullion, Academic at the University of Salford talked about how she promoted the post through social network:"I promoted it on Twitter and it was re-tweeted by a number of people. I also specifically targeted certain people and asked them to re-tweet the advert – this included George Clarke, who presents a number of programmes on TV (Channel 4) and has done a programme on empty homes. He re-tweeted it for us!"
Lisa also used her connections within and outside the University including a social policy network which Lisa is a member of to help spread the recruitment news to current students.
In addition, Lisa and John Hughes, Tameside MBC did a press release through Salford PR Office. Lisa said:"The press release focused more on the fact that the project would be starting soon and what it aimed to do, but we had an overwhelming response in terms of local and national media, which may have also helped with recruitment."
