Formed in 2008, the Adelphi Contemporary Music Group (ACMG) is gaining a reputation for innovative performances of new and modern music. Originally led by Joe Duddell and Craig Vear until Joe's departure in 2012, the ACMG is currently under the leadership of BA Music graduate Rob Thorpe.
The ACMG’s repertoire has included pieces by Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Gavin Bryars alongside mixed media works by student composers. In 2009, the ACMG performed Joe Duddell’s percussion concerto Ruby with members of the BBC Philharmonic in a recording at the University of Salford’s Old Fire Station building for broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
