This experimental performance/lecture space combines the technology of a TV Studio, the excitement of live theatre and visual immersive cinema – all in a double height space.
It is adaptable to cater for student lectures and conferences alike. Its technical infrastructure is that of a black box theatre, hard-wired over a grid at floor and ceiling levels, controlled from a fully equipped flexible control room with verbal connection via a digital intercom system.
Due to the technical investment, it can be used for computer gaming, animation, dance and accommodate specialist teaching, live performances and creative technology installations. It is particularly suited to research-led practice in creative media and new forms of digitally enhanced performance.
Adjacent is the ‘Green’ Room with full changing and shower facilities – all of which adds to a true working live environment and fully contained studio facility.
This campus features three craft edit suites which are reminiscent of those found in any post-production house in the UK creating programmes such as 'Dragon’s Den'. These areas nurture the potential for professional editors to collaborate with students.

We have three state of the art radio studios that can actually create broadcast material with equipment as used by the BBC.
They are capable of being linked to every other audio room in the building, which could facilitate outside sources such as live bands performing within the TV studios.
The studios can be linked together and the whole system uses uncompressed audio throughout for maximum quality. The studios use VCS (automated play out system in the radio studios) as used exclusively by the BBC in their radio studios. This has recently been renewed by the BBC for the next 10 years and will ensure that students are trained on industry standard technology.
The Studer On Air 3000 mixing consoles are identical to that which the BBC use in their latest radio studios with presenters having access to high quality AKG C414microphones.

This studio also has the ability to link up to the other two TV Studios in the building based on the ground floor enabling live feeds.
