Who can use the scheme?
All members of the University of Salford are entitled to use any of the SCONUL Access member libraries (with the exception of the Eddie Davies Library in Manchester Business School) on a reference only basis.
Full-time undergraduates are entitled to reference only use.
Academic staff, postgraduates, part-time students and distance and placement learners may be entitled to borrowing rights at other university libraries through SCONUL Access.

Are there other schemes I could use?
The Library is also a member of the consortium of NorthWest Academic Libraries, NoWAL. All staff and students of libraries within NoWAL have the right to access other NoWAL libraries for reference purposes (with the exception of the Eddie Davies Library in Manchester Business School), on presentation of a university/library identity card.
The NoWAL website has links to the individual catalogues of each of the NoWAL libraries, as well as more information about using NoWAL libraries.
What about local libraries?
All members of the University of Salford are also entitled to use Salford Public Libraries, with borrowing rights and free internet/computer access.
For more information on local public libraries and specialist libraries in the area see our General Guide Local libraries.
