Box of Broadcasts
Box of Broadcasts (BoB) is an off-air recording and media archive service. BoB allows University staff and students to record TV and radio programmes that are scheduled to be broadcast over the next seven days as well as retrieving programmes from the last seven days from a selected list of recorded channels.
Using BoB
If you would like a recording to be made for future use, please see our Box of Broadcasts User guide for information on how to access and record programmes.
If you would like to request a copy that has been broadcast previously, please carry out the following steps:
1. Check our existing recordings to ensure that we don’t already have a copy
2. Check BoB to see if the recording is available from the archive
If the recording is not available on BoB or from our existing off air recordings, we may be able to provide it for you. Please contact us at Cass-library@salford.ac.uk.
How to access a recording
In the box marked Where are you from? type Salford and select the Shib test. Log in using your Network username and password.
To view a recording that has been made by the University of Salford previously, check SOLAR. If it is available online, you will be able to view it on campus only. We hope that this service will soon be available off campus.
Please note that due to licence restrictions, you are only able to view these recordings within the UK.
