About the Store

The Library keeps approximately 35,000 items outside of the four Library sites. By storing these lesser used items in this way, the Library is able to make better use of the space available in the Libraries, providing more study spaces, for example, whilst still retaining access to a broad range of stock.

Items kept in store can be found on SOLAR, with a location of Store. To request an item, please visit one of the Library Enquiry Desks. We usually aim to retrieve items for you within 2-3 days.

December 2011 – Summer 2012

The Library store is currently being relocated, as part of the University’s campus plan, to make room for the new Arts Building. During this transition period access to the Store stock will not be possible, but the Library will aim to access copies of the stock from other libraries.

You can request these items from the Enquiry Desks in the usual way, but please be aware that you may have to wait for three weeks, or more, for the item to arrive.
