Publisher Open Access Agreements

We have agreements with several academic journal publishers which reduce or remove the cost of publishing open access in their journals. If you are publishing with any of the following publishers, additional funds may be available to cover the cost of making your article open access. See below for how to apply or contact the Library Open Access Team for advice:

IEEEWe have an agreement with IEEE whereby University of Salford corresponding authors are able to publish an unlimited number of open access articles. This option should be made clear to you once your article has been accepted for publication with an eligible IEEE publication; you do not need to apply via our form.
SpringerWe have an agreement with Springer whereby University of Salford corresponding authors are able to publish an unlimited number of open access articles in Springer Open Choice eligible journals. See here for a full list of titles. The option to publish open access should be made available once your article has been accepted for publication in an eligible journal; you do not need to apply via our form. Note: The Springer agreement does not cover journals published by Nature, who continue to charge open access fees for their titles.
PLoSUniversity of Salford authors publishing with PLoS should apply through the usual online form.
WileyOur agreement with Wiley gives University of Salford authors a discount on open access fees. Please apply for funding through the usual online form available on this page.
SageUniversity of Salford authors publishing with Sage are charged a significantly reduced price of £200 for publishing open access. Again, please apply for funding through the usual online form.
