Obtaining a Student ID card and amending your details
This information is for students on registered Distance Learning programmes.
Student ID card
If you have occasion to visit the University of Salford and wish to use our library facilities, you will need a valid Student ID card.
You will also need an ID card if you wish:
- To use the Document Delivery service.
- To register for Sconul Access
To apply for an ID card:
- Email a passport quality, jpeg photograph of yourself to registration@salford.ac.uk. Include your name and roll number.

Student Self Service: Updating your contact details
You can view and amend personal details held by the University online via the Student Channel.
- Update Contact Details allows you to alter your address and telephone number.
- Self Service you to check data, such as your module choices and financial statement. You can also use Self Service to amend your personal email address.

To use either option, you will need:
- Student ID number
- PIN
Forgotten your PIN?
If you do not have your PIN, both the Update Contact Details and Self Service web pages have a ‘forgotten PIN’ option. A copy of your PIN will be emailed to your University email address.
