Online training

The University provides a range of free online training materials. You can use the online training materials on and off campus to:

  • Improve your IT skills in general
  • Learn how to do something specific e.g. create a chart in Excel
  • Reinforce what you have learnt in an IT training session

What software is covered?

The range of software support available online is regularly reviewed and updated. Online training is available to support users moving from Office 2003 and 2007 to Office 2010.

The current list of software includes:

  • What's New in Office 2010
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel 2010
  • Office 2007 Quick Conversion Course
  • Project 2007 and 2003, Access 2007 and 2003, QuickBooks 2005
  • MS Office: Essentials for Beginners and Xtra: Charts and Smart Art
  • Mac OSX Tiger and Snow Leopard, Mac Word 2004
  • Windows 7
  • Computer Basics

How do I access the online materials?

Use the Online IT Training icon on the desktop, or:

You will receive an email to your University account giving you your password.

Once you are logged in to your account you can change your password from the Profile area accessed through the tab at the top of the page.

Your personal account will enable you to track your training and if you complete an entire course, will allow you to print your own certificate of completion.
