Reach your potential - we’re here to help you make the most of your studies

Four library sites, located across a wi-fi enabled campus, including a state of the art facility at MediaCityUK, provide access to a wide range of resources for your research and learning. Our cutting edge resource discovery tool, SOLAR, allows access to all our academic resources from a single interface, including more than 600,000 books, 35,000 e-journals and 400,000 e-books. There are over 600,000 library items to choose from and several special collections.

More than 800 PCs are provided, with a system that reveals where available PCs are located. 240 laptops are available for loan within libraries. Our Follow You printing system allows you to print your work anywhere on campus.

There are a number of ways in which you can receive help and support. Our libraries offer staffed Enquiry Desks, to assist you in using our services, and our Roving staff and online instant messaging service are another source of help when you need it. Subject support is available via our Academic Support Librarians, who are here to help you find the information you need for your studies. In addition to information literacy skills training, we also offer a range of online and face to face Student ICT training.

We operate 24/7 and extended opening hours, with silent and collaborative study zones developed in response to users’ needs. The customer focus of The Library has been acknowledged with the Customer Service Excellence award, a national award to recognize excellence in Public Services.
