Law School lecturer wins Student Union Best Teacher Award
for 2013 accepts his award from
Students' Union President,
Christina Kennedy.
Congratulations to the Salford Law School’s Dr Tim Marangon for his success in winning the award for ‘’Best Teacher’’ at the University of Salford Students’ Union’s Teaching Awards for 2013.
Tim was nominated by Law School students for, amongst other things, his highly effective use of Social media tools including podcasts, Facebook, blogs and Blackboard, prompting students to describe his teaching style as “inspirational”.
Tim also coaches the Law School’s Mooting Society, who this year progressed to the second stage of a national competition, providing both personal and employability benefits for the students involved.
Tim was delighted to receive the award: “I was both delighted and stunned in equal measure when I discovered I had won. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to fuel my students’ interest in my subjects and I am thrilled that they value my efforts. I am incredibly grateful to all those who nominated me for this award.’’
This year’s event was held on Wednesday 1 May in the International Life Centre, University House. Further information about the awards can be found at: www.salfordstudents.com/teachingawards
