Knowledge Exchange Affiliate with Electricity North West

Overview

In collaboration with Electricity North West, the University of Salford has secured funding for a Knowledge Exchange project. The project’s aim is to develop a series of tools and services for the delivery of energy efficiency to both operational assets, such as sub-stations, and non-operational assets, such as offices. The longer-term aim is for the applicant to develop a range of tools and techniques that can support energy efficiency for Distributed Network Operators (DNOs) nationally.

Based primarily at Electricity North West’s office in Preston (PR1) the successful applicant will manage the project supported by experienced staff from both Electricity North West and the University of Salford.

Electricity North West are a DNO, and own and operate the regional electricity distribution network in the North West of England, taking power from the National Grid, and distributing it at lower voltages to business and domestic customers.  This project hopes to ultimately lead to company employees having the capability to understand the contribution of energy initiatives to the performance of the Company, as the demands of the energy market continue to change.

Knowledge Exchange Affiliate with Upturn Enterprise Ltd

Overview

In collaboration with Upturn Enterprise Ltd, the University of Salford has secured funding for a Knowledge Exchange project. The project’s aim is to develop new service delivery perspectives, enhanced predictive models and improved interventions with disadvantaged groups by interrogating quantitative/qualitative data using social norms and data mining methodologies.

Based primarily at Upturn Enterprise’s office in Oldham (OL8) the successful applicant will manage the project supported by experienced staff from both Upturn Enterprises Ltd and the University of Salford.

Upturn is a recognized Social Enterprise committed to help improve lives, create job opportunities, support people into work and encourage enterprise in deprived areas.

This project hopes to capitalize on the data collected by using methods from social norms theory and data mining to develop a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of interventions using quantitative and qualitative data drawn from a variety of sources. This deeper, evidence based understanding of behavior and social norms will then be used to develop processes and models that lead to effective targeted cost-effective interventions.

Knowledge Exchange Affiliate with Reputation Consultancy

Overview

In collaboration with Reputation Consultancy, the University of Salford has secured funding for a Knowledge Exchange project. The project’s aim is to develop the UK’s leading management information toolkit for reputation analysis and evidence based decision making.

Based primarily at Reputation Consultancy’s office in Media City, Salford (M50), the successful applicant will manage the project supported by experienced staff from both Reputation Consultancy and the University of Salford.

Reputation Consultancy is a specialist consultancy that enables organisations, brands, teams and individuals to measure, change and enhance their reputations. They are looking to develop an in-house digital media and online advertising, return on investment, reputation management modelling and tracking tool. There is currently no tool available to do this that follows the Reputation Management unique methodology and what is available does not offer the level of detail and data required.

The project hopes to be able to give the company the capability to plan, track and constantly learn from multi-channel engagement and be able to maintain and improve the model and tool through their acquired knowledge in monitoring and interpreting multichannel traffic.
