About the course

We are passionate about teaching language and our classes are student-centred and designed to develop your practical language skills at different levels, in a friendly, supportive environment.

  1. Language modules are available as part of several undergraduate courses, and are worth 20 credits each.
  2. You can choose to take a language course as a not-for-credit paid option - as extra-curricular learning or simply for personal interest.

All courses are over two semesters with a choice of daytime and evening sessions to fit around your other commitments. You will have two contact hours per week, with experienced language tutors, mostly native speakers of that language. This means you get around 50 hours of supported learning to help you progress and consolidate your learning around the four core skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing. You will also benefit from extra practice materials and activities provided through the Blackboard virtual learning environment.
