International Partnerships Mission

Through our network of innovative partnerships with other leading Universities, the International Partnerships Team (IPT) are able to provide opportunities within higher education, which can transform the lives of our students and staff. We are passionate about delivering internationalisation at home and overseas to provide a global impact and step change for the institutions that we work with, their wider communities and our students. Our team recognise the importance of identifying business development opportunities, which maintain a global reach and work diligently to meet the ever-changing needs and opportunities of global institutions and students.

In line with the International Delivery Plan we have three aims:

What we do for you

In order to support the academic schools in their partnership development and meet the aims of both the wider international development strategy and manage our internal resource we will provide the following services:

  • Dedicated point of contact for the University with dedicated regional expertise and designated School account management.
  • Manage relationships on behalf of academic schools on all partnership related matters across The University Professional Services including Library Services, Legal Services, Quality and Enhancement Office, Finance Team, School Operations, Marketing and Student Administration inclusive of Admissions, Analysis and Customer Services.
  • Manage all new collaborative, academic and consultancy business leads and support enquiry management, developing institutional profiles utilising both in house and sector market intelligence.
  • Provide a comprehensive due diligence offer across both academic and collaborative partnerships, managing both resource and reputational risk.
  • Lead on the Collaborative Provision Policy and Procedure and Typologies with colleagues in QEO ensuring consistency and robustness with clear processes for managing the partnership process end to end and reporting to University central committees.
  • Lead on contractual management with colleagues in Legal Services to ensure that documentation is fit for purpose.
  • Manage the financial RSI1 process with colleagues in finance to ensure all new partnership opportunities are financially viable and sustainable.
  • Provide international policy updates, training and development on both academic and collaborative opportunities globally.
  • We enhance the University of Salford’s reputation and global reach at an international level through the development of our staff and student Mobility offer inclusive of, international exchange partnerships, Erasmus+ graduate traineeships, summer schools and study abroad offer. Ensuring that the students and staff have a comparable experience to students and staff on our main site provision.
