English Language Requirements

All University of Salford courses are taught and assessed in English and all applicants must meet the minimum English language entry requirement.

For admission to your course of study, please review the course page for the English language requirement. The English language requirement will be shown as an IELTS grade, however the University accepts a range of equivalent qualifications.

As a general guide:
For undergraduate courses: IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent
For postgraduate courses: IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent
For International Foundation Year: IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum 4.0 in each component) in UKVI IELTS for UKVI (Academic)
