Alan Wilson

Alan is a Barrister and a member Kenworthy's Chambers, Salford. He qualified as a lawyer in 1994 working as a Solicitor for a trade union law firm until transferring to the Bar in 2005.

He does some prosecution work but primarily defends in both Crown and Magistrates' Courts in cases involving all types of criminal offences. He has a particular interest in representing workers facing accusations arising from their employment and has represented teachers, nurses, midwives, firemen, refuse collectors and journalists amongst others.

His other areas of work include mental health law, child care, and inquests. In 2009 Alan was appointed as Assistant Deputy Coroner for the City of Liverpool.

Part of the Bar Council's "Speakers for Schools" programme, Alan often speaks to prospective law students about a career at the Bar, and has lectured both to adults returning to further education in Criminal Law, and in conjunction with the School of Law at Salford University in both Crime and Inquests.
