Biography
Gill James completed a Ph D in Creative and Critical Writing in 2007, shortly before she came to the University of Salford. Previously she taught creative writing at the University of Portsmouth and the University of Wales, Bangor.
She is a published author who writes fiction for young adults and children and also writes shorter fiction for adults. She frequently visits schools in order to give readings and workshops about her work and to introduce school children to the idea of studying creative writing in higher education.
She is involved with several local community projects and is the founder of the more global Creative Café Project, and its e-zine CafeLit which provided publication opportunities for new writers including our own students and graduates.
