We teach a wide range of modern languages within the school, including Arabic, French, German, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, with courses covering all levels from beginners to masters. Some of our courses include English as a foreign language. Alongside individual languages, our courses also reflect our long-standing expertise in linguistics and in translation & interpreting studies. We also run a number of short language courses for staff, students and members of the public who wish to learn a language.
Our politics and contemporary history provision specialises in the areas of contemporary military and international history, security studies, international relations, European politics, and critical political thought.
We have a multidisciplinary team of experts from the fields of sociology, criminology, anthropology, psychology, law, social policy and geography.
