Welcome to the funding opportunities area of our website. This page contains information about central funding opportunities for professional and administrative staff. Academic staff have funding routes available through their school and should speak to the school office or their line manager in the first instance.
If you work in a professional services or administrative role you are eligible for funding to study for a professional qualification or accredited course. This is to help you progress in your role and your career overall by enhancing and accrediting your professional and personal skills.
Your application for funding should be for a course which has been identified through your PDR discussion and been supported by your line manager. This is to ensure that the University is funding development activities which not only support your career, but also the strategic needs of the business. For further information please read the guidance notes below.
There are two points in the year when you can submit an application form for PAL funding: April & October. An additional deadline in January may be available for courses commencing in Feb-July. Applications can be submitted for consideration by each deadline. Your course will not be fully funded but you will be awarded a percentage of the cost from the fund, with the expectation that your school/division will match the level of funding offered to you. Supporting statements from your line manager and head of department are essential to verify the link between the programme of study and the impact it will have on your role once undertaken.
Working in a University you have a wealth of course options right on your doorstep. We therefore encourage you, where possible, to seek funding for courses delivered by the University itself. The MBA (Masters in Business Administration) delivered by Salford Business School is one such possibility.
The committee is able to consider team as well as individual applications so if you would like the opportunity to up skill your team, please let us know. If you have any queries please contact:firstname.lastname@example.org
