Colin McCallum appointed as Executive Director, University Advancement
Today the University of Salford is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin McCallum to the role of Executive Director, University Advancement, responsible for managing and developing the fundraising, alumni relations and events management teams.
Colin joins Salford from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) where he is currently Assistant Vice-Principal and President of the GCU Foundation. His impressive breadth of experience has included posts as Chief Executive of leading strategic management consulting firm, Grenzebach Glier and Associates (Europe) and Director of Marketing and Development at the National Museums of Scotland.
He has also worked at the Universities of Edinburgh, Strathclyde and St Hilda’s College, Oxford.
This is an exciting time for Colin to join Salford as the University undergoes a period of unprecedented change and investment. His arrival follows the official opening of the University’s facility at MediaCityUK by HRH Prince Philip.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr Adrian Graves said: “Colin has an outstanding track record of delivering high profile and successful development strategies in a range of sectors. His experience will be of huge benefit as the University looks to further enhance its fundraising, alumni and events strategy.”
Speaking of his appointment, Colin said: “I am delighted to be taking up this challenging post at Salford and look forward to working with colleagues across the University. The advancement agenda, including fundraising and alumni engagement, has much to offer.
“I am sure that there is great potential for us to work together to raise the profile of the University and all the good things that it does; make new friends and strengthen existing relationships, building mutually-beneficial partnerships of many kinds.”
