Chance to learn a new language this autumn
For all those people who have a 'teach yourself French' CD gathering dust on the bookshelf, the University of Salford is offering language tuition from as little as £75 a term this October.
The University's Languages for All programme offers classes in eight languages including Arabic, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Italian to help people when on holiday, business trips or just for their own interest.
Staff and PhD students from the University's School of Languages will be offering tuition in a classroom setting for people with no knowledge of the language, up to improvers' levels - in ten, two hour weekly lessons.
The School of Languages has around 2,700 students from 80 countries. Staff in the School believe that it doesn't have to be hard to learn a foreign language and that people of all backgrounds can benefit from the study of languages for a variety of purposes.
Deborah Lumb from the School said: "Learning a language is an interesting thing to do and can prove very useful in terms of business and when on holiday. Learning in a class is one of the best possible ways to do this since students can practice with an expert teacher and each other."
Languages for All runs from 10 October and costs from £75. Languages available at beginner level are Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish.
