Students’ Masterchef lesson

University of Salford students had a taste of top-class cooking when Masterchef 2011 winner Tim Anderson put on a demonstration of excellent eating on a budget.  

Tim demonstrated how to cook up a high-class toast on beans (to keep the toast crunchy) along with a delicious home-made kebab marinaded in Guinness, herbs and spices before judging an omelette cooking competition.  The winner of the competition, Juan Martinez, who is studying an MSc in audio production, received a basket of all the ingredients to make the recipes himself plus a shopping voucher.

The event was organised by Campus Living Villages, who own and run the University’s accommodation at Eddie Colman and John Lester courts and also manage Matthias and Bramhall Courts.
