Fashion Design graduate show at MediaCityUK

Twenty-nine final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design students showcased their final collections in front of more than 300 clothing industry guests, family and friends at a spectacular catwalk show on Thursday 31 May – the first event of its type to be held at our MediaCityUK space.

The collections ranged from fine tailoring and evening wear to active sportswear and military styling. Five awards, judged by a panel of industry professionals, were presented on the night to students, including prizes for best collection, sponsored by Matalan, innovation and best use of colour. 16 students were also selected to present their collections at the prestigious Graduate Fashion Week at London’s Earl’s Court on Sunday 10 June.

Student James Greig, who is one of the graduates whose work will be shown at Graduate Fashion Week, said: “Being part of the London show and winning the award is a fantastic way for me to finish my course. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I started my degree but I’ve learned so much and the competition and inspiration from being around such creative people has driven me forward.” Following graduation, James will be travelling to China to intern for Hong Bang Tailoring.
