The University’s £30m investment sits at the centre of the vibrant North West digital and creative community, next to the Studios at MediaCityUK and underneath the building which will soon house ITV.  The state-of-the-art facilities include the new generation of television and radio studios, production suits and a digital infrastructure which has been informed and specified by industry and future-proofed for emerging technologies.

Prince Philip has a long-standing connection with the University of Salford, having been its first Chancellor from 1967 to 1991 and showed a keen interest in the University and its future while he held the office.

Situated at the heart of the creative industries, next to the new studios at the MediaCityUK and underneath the building which will soon house ITV, the facilities include the new generation of television and radio studios, production suites and a digital infrastructure which has been informed and specified by industry and future-proofed for emerging technologies.

The University’s close partnerships with major businesses such as BT, Adobe and Avid are breaking new ground and informing the continued development of courses and research projects for more than 1,500 students, including journalism, animation, film production and professional sound and video. The Salford Business School full-time MBA course also runs from the MediaCity campus, giving another international dimension to studying there.
