Centre for Health Sciences Research

The Centre brings together multiple disciplines from the health professions including physiotherapy, podiatry, sports rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthotics, radiography and occupational therapy, as well as engineering, sports science and computing science.

We currently boast over £3.6 million of research funding and our academic staff lead on a host of international collaborations and enjoy partnerships with many health organisations, sports clubs, private industry partners, charities and user organisations.

In the national Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008 more than 80% of the School’s research was ranked as of ‘international quality’. Within the UK and Europe we are in the top 5% of research groups based in academic departments related to podiatry, physiotherapy, prosthetics, orthotics, occupational therapy, sports science and sports rehabilitation.
