I have been a researcher within the School of Health Sciences for 7 years, working on a variety of footwear biomechanics projects utilising plantar pressure systems, 3D motion analysis and electromyography. The projects on which I have led have a strong emphasis on industry collaboration and integration, working alongside footwear companies and technology centres. I completed my PhD via publication focusing on the integration work on a 5 year collaborative research programme investigating children’s foot health, specifically the changes in foot structure and function that occur during the development of independent walking.
