Ferndale ward is a ward for male patients who require alonger stay in hospital. The aim of the ward is to provide high quality care ina safe and therapeutic environment.

The majority of the patients are subject to sections of theMental Health Act (1983) and are admitted mainly from internal transfers fromother wards within the service.

Patients and whenever appropriate, their families andsignificant others, are very much involved in their programme of care. Themaintenance and development of appropriate links outside of the unit arepromoted whenever possible.
