About this placement

What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

On your first day you will be introduced to your mentor who will discuss your individual learning needs and your co- mentor will also be identified. You will also be orientated to Radcliffe Primary Care Centre and the Practice and meet other members of staff.

You will be given your time table for your duration of your allocation

Your Welcome Pack and be taken through an orientation check list.

Within the first week you will undertake a full induction to the practice and complete the preliminary interview of your assessment documentation. Dates will also be agreed for the intermediate and final assessment interviews.

Please note you must wear your identification badge at all times whilst working in the healthcare settings.

 

Uniform

No jewellery is allowed other than a wedding band; one pair of stud earings

Nails must be clean and short. Acrylic nails and nail polish are not permitted

 

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Shift Notes:

Before the start of your placement your allocated mentor will be informed of your arrival to placement On commencement of your placement your shifts will be allocated to you by your mentor.

A normal working week will be Monday – Friday dependent on location,spoke placement and hours.

Students are not required to work bank holidays, weekends or nights, however if they wish they can work with prior authorisation of their mentor.

Flexible working hours can be discussed with your mentor.

Spoke Placements

There are a number of spoke placements which you could visit in your placement. Discussions with your mentor based upon your specific needs will be required to ensure the spoke placements match these.
