Debts to the University
If you are in debt to the University on 14 June 2013 your name will not be added to the Official Pass List. Therefore you will not be able to attend a graduation ceremony this year. Subsequently your graduation will be delayed until next year and a certificate will not be issued.
Debts to the University may take many forms including:
- unpaid academic fees
- accommodation fees
- examination fees
- late registration charges
- unpaid library fines
- nursery fees
You will have received reminders from the University about any outstanding debts so it is important that you respond to these and pay the debt as soon as possible.
It is important to note that if your sponsor or employer has not paid your fees this counts as a debt against you and you cannot graduate until they pay the outstanding amount. You may wish to check with them that all outstanding debts have been cleared.
If your debts are not cleared by 14 June 2013 you will be taken off the list for the July 2013 Graduation - it will not be possible to reinstate you after this date.
If you wish to pay your debts by cheque please ensure they are paid to the relevant department by 7 June at the latest, 5 working days before the deadline, as this will allow time for cheques to clear.
