When studying, students experience first-hand all the fantastic opportunities made possible by a university education, and many students get straight to work ensuring that a university education is available to tomorrow’s students today by supporting future members of the University of Salford family through our Class Giving initiative.
The Class Giving initiative at Salford provides an exciting and unique opportunity for current students to support access to higher education by donating whatever they can before they graduate.
With over 40% of our graduates being the first in their family to attend university and a high percentage of adult learners, we have many students who need a helping hand to enable the possibilities that a University of Salford education brings.
Led by current students and our mascot, Maxwell the Lion, our team of Class Giving ambassadors know exactly the opportunities that a Salford degree brings. The involvement of current students, alumni, staff and friends not only demonstrates the value that supporters place on a Salford education, but also pride in being part of such a diverse and vibrant institution.
By making a suggested donation of £5, you can have your own Maxwell keyring that you can display with pride as a visual reminder of how working as a collective towards supporting future students, marvellous possibilities are unlocked for those that may not otherwise be able to attend university.
All Class Giving funds contribute towards a £1,000 scholarship that is judged on academic ability and financial need. Every gift that we receive, irrespective of amount, makes a huge difference in helping someone realise their true potential.
Our 50th anniversary also presents a unique opportunity for your donation to be matched by our Jubilee Fund. In our ambition to award 67 new scholarships and bursaries to commemorate the year 1967, when the University of Salford received the Royal Charter, we will match any new regular gift or single gift up to £3,000 and any gift between £3,000 and £30,000 in support of scholarships and bursaries.
