Event details

The Red Brick Chamber Sessions

The Red Brick Chamber Sessions is a series of free concerts in partnership with the University of Salford. Involving top class musicians from the BBC Philharmonic, the innovative programming of The Red Brick Sessions continues to weave through this series of shorter, up-close and intimate chamber concerts. Timeless works are paired with new music, creating an exciting opportunity to observe musicians interact without a conductor to create their own personal performances.

Tonight’s string group, including BBC Philharmonic string players, performs two works with over 150 years between them. Written and performed for the first time in 2016, James Else’s “Falling, Unseen” stands in stark contrast to Brahms’ first string sextet, written in 1860.
