Alumnus and former Director-General of the British Chamber of Commerce joins us to discuss'Globalisation, global debt, Brexit and beyond' -
Alumnus and former Director-General of the British Chamber ofCommerce joins us for this year’s Annual Alumni Lecture, which is the first inthis year's Salford Lecture Series.
In his talk, John will discuss how the turmoil created by the2008 financial crisis led to the Brexit referendum in June 2016 - which saw17.4 million people voting for the UK to leave the European Union.
During the EU referendum campaign, John resigned from his roleas Director-General at the British Chamber of Commerce, whose official positionof neutrality had prevented him from sharing his own views on Brexit. He is nowCo-Chairman of Leave Means Leave – an influential campaign group formed toensure that the UK’s exit from the EU is swift, clean and offers maximumbenefit for the country.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be fascinating lecture and Q&A.
At Salford we are delighted to have a growing and vibrant alumnicommunity who are engaged in a wide range of activities on an internationalscale. This event also provides an opportunity for reconnecting and networkingwith your fellow Salford graduates over drinks and canapés.
