Salford's Centre for Construction Innovation has organised 'Natural stone: modern methods of construction' - a continuous professional development seminar aimed at individuals interested in furthering their knowledge and achieving their design objectives through the use of stone in construction.

The seminar will:

  • Provide an understanding of how stone can be used in traditional and modern architecture.
  • Indicate the various fixing options including: handset, stone on precast, rainscreen and full wall rainscreen
  • Consider the advantages each option offers
  • Review design/build considerations.

Speakers:

  • David Richardson, Director Building Technology Group, BRE
  • Andrew Shutt, BA (Hons) arch, Commercial and Specification Manager, Stancliffe Stone.
