The School of Environment & Life Science aims to expand its involvement with international research mobility through the support of prospective Marie Curie Fellowship applicants. The University has an excellent track-record in attracting FP7 funds, with 100% success in Marie Curie applications in 2012.

A blind taste test of people attending a Manchester Science Festival event held by the School of Environment & Life Sciences has found that only 15% could identify cod served up from a fish and chip van.

Wednesday 8 August 2012Alpine Glacier Project
The Alpine Glacier Project is a long term study on glacier melt led by Professor David Collins. Around 50 students visit the Alps each Summer to take part in in field courses and for sustained periods of individual fieldwork for undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
