All of the features below can be changed and even the house itself can be demolished to make room for a different type of building such as hospital wing or block of flats.

Solid Wall Construction

  • Bricks:  reclaimed clay
  • Size:    2 “5/8 handmade
  • Mortar: slated lime
  • Bond:   English bond

Roof

  • Natural slate
  • No insulation
  • No felt

Windows

  • Glass:  single glazed
  • Frame: wooden sash

Internal

  • Floor:    suspended wooden beam (traditional board rather than tongue and groove)
  • Walls:   traditional plaster
  • Ceiling: lathe and plaster

Electrical Systems

  • Traditional 240v ring main
  • Voltage optimisation option
  • Variable voltage ring 12v – 120v

Heating Systems

  • Traditional water
  • Gas-fired boiler
  • Individual room thermostats
