The College of Science and Technology consists of three Schools: Built Environment; Computing, Science & Engineering and the School of Environment & Life Sciences. These dynamic teaching and research areas cross disciplines to open up new and exciting opportunities for all involved.
With a plethora of examples of excellence in research, teaching, innovation and engagement throughout the College our expertise is consulted regionally, nationally and internationally. Our research and courses are focussed, ground breaking and real world applicable. This is an exciting time for the College in creating new, explorative and informative pathways in Science and Technology.
School of the Built Environment
The School of the Built Environment offers a wide range of courses from undergraduate to masters level and on to research. We are a very popular destination for part time students and our courses are developed with the future needs of industry in mind.
Courses have access to first class facilities, experienced academic tutors and award-winning work placements.
School of Computing, Science & Engineering
The School of Computing, Science & Engineering is a dynamic school where teaching, research and commercial work are carried out side by side. A broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered, and research is undertaken.
Research at Salford is highly rated, some of the School's research centres were part of Resarch Institutes that achieved 6* in the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), and the University of Salford is rated in the top third of all UK Universities for research.
School of Environment & Life Sciences
The School of Environment and Life Sciences covers an outstanding range of academic disciplines across all areas of biology, environment, health, geography and wildlife conservation, hence providing a very eclectic, stimulating, interdisciplinary hub for undergraduate and postgraduate education and cutting-edge research.
Theory is combined with practical experience in the form of lab work, fieldwork and professional placements that help our students to realise their career goals.
