Internationalisation

The Universities’ international strategy is to:

  • Understand and develop international partnerships for research, joint programme development and to enhance the student experience
  • Nurture our reputation and global brand
  • Increase international research collaborations – including co-authoring articles with partners outside the UK, increasing international visiting scholars and undertaking joint doctoral supervision
  • Transform the programme portfolio – so that our programmes meet the needs of students, their employers and other education stakeholders
  • Enhance the student experience – improving student employability and equipping our students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes for the global economy.

The College of Science and Technology is committed to meeting the aims of the strategy and through our research, our portfolio of international partnerships, our enterprise initiatives, staff and student exchanges and international honorary appointments.

International Courses

We have an active community of students from around the globe and welcome applications from those interested in bachelors, masters and doctoral level programmes.

By understanding market needs and delivery pattern options we have recently identified potential international markets where we can deliver blended learning courses. A number of our existing programmes have been adapted and we are also working on new areas for programme development across both schools within the college.

We now have a number of new international courses for further details visit:

International Exchange Projects

The College of Science and Technology takes an active part in the University international exchange schemes including Erasmus and Socrates and some of the benefits for students in this area include:

  • An opportunity to apply the knowledge that you have gained at the University
  • Witness the application of modern techniques in your field of interest
  • Obtain a better understanding of the role of some of the theory that you have been taught
  • Experience working for an organisation
  • Discuss your future career with people established within the industry
  • Consider the possibility of working for the same organisation after you have graduated

A large proportion of students undertaking a placement with a company are employed by that company after they have graduated.
