Qualification Entry requirements 2013
University of Salford International Foundation Year IFY applicants who wish to progress to this course on successful completion of the IFY will be considered. A portfolio of relevant work and/or evidence of relevant media-related experience will be required.
Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art and Design) Acceptable only when combined with other qualifications.
GCE A level 280-320 points (ABB). General Studies not accepted.
GCE A level double award 280-320 points to include Media Communication and Production
BTEC National Diploma DDM (280-320) in Media.
BTEC Higher National Diploma Applicants with HND in Media Production (or other subjects with strong media production content) may be considered for second year entry. Overall Merit/Distinction profile required.
Foundation Degree If you have a relevant Foundation Degree, you can join the programme at year 2
Scottish Highers 280-320 points. Media Studies is highly desirable.
Irish Leaving Certificate 280-320 points. Media Studies is highly desirable.
International Baccalaureate 31 points, to include Media.

English Language Requirements

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.

TOEFL score: IBT: 87 (INt) 76 (EU)

Applicant profile

We positively welcome applications from students who may not meet the stated entry criteria but who can demonstrate their ability to successfully pursue a programme of study in higher education. Students who do not have formal entry qualifications are required to sit a written assessment which is designed for this purpose.
