Super Intensive Summer English Study Programme

  • International students can apply

You will have 25 academic hours of English classes each week. You will also be expected to do homework and open learning in the Language Resource Centre.

When you arrive you will be given a test and placed in a group of students with a similar language level. There are normally three different levels: pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper-intermediate. At all levels you will have classes in academic reading and writing, academic listening and speaking, and project work.

On completion of this course you will be eligible for guaranteed progression onto a named course at the University of Salford where:

  • You hold a conditional offer of a place on your chosen course, and the sole condition of offer relates to English language entry requirements
  • You are able to produce documentary evidence (as defined on the University’s website) which indicates that your English-language competence is no more than 0.5 IELTS points (or equivalent) below the English-language requirement for your chosen course. You must have a minimum of 5.5 in all components (listening, reading, writing and speaking)
  • Your attendance rate on this programme is no lower than 90 per cent
  • You complete, at an acceptable standard, all required coursework.
