Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)
We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.
Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
English Language Requirements
International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.5 (no element below 6.0) is proof of this.
Applicant profile
Typical Sports Rehabilitation students are keen, hard working, and committed with good interpersonal and communication skills and a genuine interest in wanting to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate sports people or the physically active.
Entry may be directly from school at 18 or after a period of gaining experience in the workplace.
Prospective students may discuss their qualifications or experience with the admissions tutor who will be pleased to advise. All candidates will be required to hold a full and current HSE approved First Aid certificate.
Acceptance on the course is subject to:
- Satisfactory health clearance
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance
