A wide range of creative and technical media careers and opportunities are possible. These including audio or video editing, special effects supervisor, audio dubbing mixer, metadata and server operative and online colour grader.
Industry Links
The course has extensive links with a range of north west production and post production companies that produce a diverse range of media genres. These include children's animation, prime-time dramas, comedies and natural history documentaries which provide you with access to a range of media professionals.
Students have undergone periods of work placement with 360 Media, the post production wing of Granada, Sumners Post Production, Films @ 59, Flix Facilities and the BBC Natural History unit. The diverse range of productions enables you to gain a broad experience of media practices on both a theoretical and practical basis that will expand and enhance the skills taught on individual modules.
Work placements action plans are planned with individual companies to give you experience of a typical media workflow and production schedule. The action plans give first-hand experience of audio mixing, on and off-line editing, colouring and grading, using and creating special effects and delivering media for multiple media and internet platforms.
