BSc (Hons) Midwifery (Post RN)

Qualification Entry requirements 2013
NMC registered Be a Nurse Level 1 (Adult) part of the NMC Register
Portfolio Have a portfolio fulfilling PREP requirements, demonstrating current experience and reflective practice
Experience/study Show evidence of recent study if qualified more than three years ago. At least four weeks experience in the field of gynaecology would be an advantage as would some post-qualifying experience as a nurse.

English Language Requirements

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 7.0 (no element below 7) is proof of this.

Applicant must be resident in the UK for three years.

Applicant profile

This course requires students who are keen and committed to becoming a midwife in the future. We are looking for students who are interested and motivated to learn about midwifery and demonstrate some understanding of the role of the midwife. We look for candidates with a good academic record, appear professional and well prepared for interview and possess the necessary skills required to become a midwife.

We positively welcome applications from students who may not meet the stated entry criteria but who can demonstrate their ability to successfully pursue a programme of study in higher education. Students who do not have the traditional entry requirements may be able to apply through the Salford Alternative Entry Scheme. In the first instance you should discuss this will the relevant Admissions Tutor.
