Midwifery is not just about delivering babies – it’s about providing women and their families with the best midwifery care during pregnancy, birth and early post-natal stages.

You will learn both the theoretical and clinical aspects of midwifery, where the health and wellbeing of the mother, baby and family is the main focus. You will also complete a number of clinical placements where you will work alongside a midwife in a hospital environment.

You will use your time in the clinical area to become a competent practitioner gaining the skill and ability to practice safely and effectively without the need for direct supervision. On successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to register as a midwife on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Professional Register.
