Full-time

If you take the full-time MRes (Media), you will study a core research module per semester, each of which develops your knowledge and skills in research and culminates in the production of a 60 credit MRes Research Project or piece of media practice as research on any aspect of Media of your choosing. Complementing your study of research processes, practices and techniques in semesters one and two, you will be able to choose an optional module from the taught postgraduate suite in creative media at Salford. The work that you do in these modules will enrich your subject knowledge of media and can be applied to the design and completion of the MRes Research Project in Semester 3.

Part-time

If you take the MRes (Media) on a part-time basis, in year one, semester one you will study the Research Methods and Methodologies module, followed, in semester 2, by an option of your choice from the taught postgraduate suite of modules in Media at Salford. In semester 3 you will study the Formulating Research Projects module. In Year 2, your study will commence with an option from the taught postgraduate suite of modules at Salford, leading, in semesters 2 and 3, to the completion of the MRes Research Project.
