GCE A level 220-260 points (BCC). Maths, Physics, Electronics or IT preferred. General Studies is not accepted.
BTEC National Diploma MMM (220-260). Maths or Physics bias.

Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)

We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.

The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.

Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

English Language Requirements

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.

TOEFL score: IBT: 87 (Int) 76 (EU)

Applicant profile

A Media Technology student is someone who knows how to use a camera but also wants to know how the camera works. You should be up to date with all the new technologies on the market and have an appreciation of the role of computing in modern society.  

Preferred background subjects are sciences, media, electronics, CDT, physics and IT.

We welcome applications from mature students without formal/traditional entry requirements but with relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully. If you have a relevant HND, you may be able to join the course in year 2.

This degree is also offered with a foundation year specifically designed for international students.
