Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)
We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.
Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
English Language Requirements
International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.
Suitable For
Normal entry qualification is HNC/HND, non-relevant degree or equivalent. However, the absence of prior qualification does not exclude potential students whose work experience gives them the background to be able to benefit substantially from the course.
Applicant profile
This course is ideal for managers and aspiring management professionals who wish to underpin their existing skills with a degree level management qualification. Entry requirements are usually a level 4 qualification (e.g. HNC or equivalent in a business discipline) or a qualification in any subject above level 4 (e.g. a degree or graduate certificate). Suitable candidates are expected to be able to observe and discuss an organisation with which they are familiar, and be able to critically evaluate observations.
