The Graduate Certificate in Management is designed for those who wish to develop practical management skills and provides a comfortable return to academic study.
All courses emphasise the development of management capability through the integration of workplace application and academic study.
Each year many successful students move onto the MSc in Management Practice and other MSc courses. This course offers a way of resuming studies and opening up a route to some of the highest professional and academic qualifications in the field of management.
Course details
The certificate is organised around a number of main themes, all of which cover what someone in a general management role needs to know. The themes are:
- Managing Activities
- Management Principles
- Managing People
- Managing Resources
Underpinning these main themes is the considerable emphasis placed on personal development, continuous professional development and academic development.
There are no examinations. Assessment is by a number of work-based assignments and a two-day residential which focuses on the development of management skills and supports the four modules. So you will be able to plan your time evenly across the course and always be fully prepared for your workload in order to fit it round existing commitments.
The course is delivered in two 12-week semesters with two modules being delivered in each semester.
